Regency Conservatories

The Regency period was during the Georgian period, being from 1811 to 1820. This was due to George the third being declared unfit to rule, and his son ruled in his proxy as Prince Regent until 1820 when his father died, and the Prince Regent became George the fourth. From this time period came the regency conservatories.

The only difference in architecture from the Georgian period was an introduction of columns on a grand scale. Many houses had two large columns holding up a lavish porch on top of the front entrance.

Regency Example

A good example of how the era was dominated by columns is Regents Park in London. So for conservatories, there isn’t much difference between Georgian and Regency. We can design your conservatory around your home, with any of your house features being incorporated into the design.
